Why Reenacting and Living History?

We are people to whom the past is forever speaking.

We listen because we cannot help ourselves, for the past speaks to us so loudly.

Far out of that dark nowhere which is the time before we were born,

men and women who were flesh of our flesh and bone of our bone

passed through fire and storm to clear a path to the future.

We are part of the future they died for;

they are part of the past that brought us here.

What they did—the lives they lived, the sacrifices they made, the stories they told,

the songs they sang and finally, the deaths they died--are literally a part of our own experience.

We cannot separate ourselves from it.

It is as real to us as something that happen just last week.

More importantly, it is our Heritage as  Americans,

and therefore we continue to listen.......

and then speak to the future.

"Those who do not learn from the past are condemned to repeat it"

By displaying Confederate flags on this site, we by no means intend to demonstrate acceptance of or support for organizations that utilize the depiction of said flags as emblems of racism/social degradation. We find it distasteful that organizations continue to forget the true historical value of remembering the actions of men and women in molding this nation, and use the flags of that period to symbolize their ignorance and hatred.

The Confederate flag is a symbol of HERITAGE and a critical part of our Nation’s history.  More states flew the Confederate flag, as their national flag than the number of colonies that fought for our initial independence from Great Britain.
